it is 86 degrees here, and i'm not a very huge fan of that.

this morning i walked down the street to the local branch of the public library. it is a fairly small space, smaller than the public library i worked at during high school. but they have a shelf of "graphic novels" and about 5 shelves of manga. i noticed they had 7 volumes of Nausicaa. i'll probably get those eventually. i checked out skim and phoenix. now that i have looked it up online, i see that this is the second part of phoenix. guess i'll have to go back and see if they have the rest. but from what i understand it is 12 stand alone stories that only loosely link together, so maybe i'll just read these and see if it makes sense. it shouldn't take much more to read all of tezuka's comics. black jack will probably be next.

also picked up a box fan from the home depot. looking at them, i felt like i was in the college dorms again.

the rest of the day is wide open. i read some of skim, it's pretty good so far and the drawings are beautiful. i'd like to go see the class, but maybe i'll save it for tomorrow. i have to take the g to the f, in order to see it, and the terminal where you switch is also the stop for my comic shop. so i think i can kill two birds with one stone tomorrow. watch the movie, then buy comics on the way home. free money from tax payers is really something else.

i'd also really like to go to the MoMa. supposedly some awesome drawings up there. maybe that can fit in to thursday or something. it looks like it won't be 80 any more after today, so i'd really like to use the cooler days to do things and hide inside during the heated ones.

the seventh episode of breaking bad ended on an interesting point, and i was concerned that they were doing another 7 episode season. so i looked it up on the wiki to see. turns out they are doing 14 this year, but they are also already signed on for 14 more next year. i wish that wasn't in the wiki, because now i'm not as worried for the characters. if there were only 7 left, i would be really worried about the dea + walt + walt's family. but at this point, it's like... they'll at least be ok for 21 more hours, i guess. kind of killed the suspense.

also, i think that Sit Down, Shut Up could become better than Arrested Development. the fact that it is animated gives the team a lot of opportunity for visual gags, and if you add that to the already arrested-style writing... you win.
